Digital Pedometer

Introduction:

My name is George Adams, and I am a Computer Engineering major. For my dissection project, I've decided to take apart and analyze the model CR - 812 digital pedometer. I chose this for my dissection because I have used it regularly in my weight loss journey. With it, I was able to track my steps throughout the day so I could meet my goal of 10,000 steps per day. Thanks to this product I was able to lose about 30 pounds. Since I have a personal connection with this device, it felt right to finally see the inner workings and circuitry of this helpful tool.

Lessons Learned After the Fact:

After the completion of this project, I learned how something as pedometer can have many inner workings to make all the different parts function. From something like a crystal oscillator to keep track of time t0 the step tracker itself, there are a multitude of inner mechanisms in any piece of technology no matter how complex or simple.
