A History

The thought of the pedometer has been around since the Italian Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci this device for use in the military, and the first working model was seen in the 1600s. They would then later be introduced into the United States by Thomas Jefferson after a trip to France.

Although these old models were mechanical, the models we see in our modern era are electronic, and they can widely vary based on their sophistication. They can be bought as a stand alone product or they can be an embedded system of their own in an iPhone or a Fitbit.

CR-812 Operation

This mode of the pedometer is a simple one that tracks steps and the time it is in use. It has a few modes that doesn't vary the data collected but rather how it is displayed instead: steps, all-time steps, kcals, and miles. At the bottom of the display it simply shows a stop watch that tracks how long the product has been in use.
